I think it is a natural fit for me to specialize in family portraits with larger families. Since we have five kids and my brother has four kids our annual family portrait time has always been on Thanksgiving day. I learned to pose large groups of people early on in my photography career. Now that I live at the beach and word has gotten around that I do family portraits, it has been a record breaking year for me. Each week since spring I have done at least one large (more that a dozen people) family portrait session a week. Families are choosing Tybee for a family reunion or week long vacation with their crew that is typically scattered all over the country. What a great experience to see these people come all together at one time and then choose to have photographs made. I know how hard is is to get everyone together in one place at the same time. It has been almost two years since I have had all my kids together. There is a chance I will get them all in one place next week!! My fingers are crossed!! I will be sure to share our pictures with you!
When booking a family portriat session with me, our top goal is to get at least one great shot of everyone together. Then we will do breakdowns of each smaller family unit in the group. All the kids with grandparents, just the girls, just the guys…any way you want to mix and match. Your wish is my command.
Here are a few of the large family portraits I have taken this year.
