Many of the weddings we photograph here on Tybee take place on the beach…which is no doubt a beautiful location. But Kathryn and Patrick chose to have a traditional church wedding. I really enjoyed the challenge of shooting this ceremony that took place in Saint Michael’s Church. Lighting in churches can be tricky, but I just loved how the gorgeous stained glass and warm pine is a perfect backdrop that captures the tradition that was so important to this couple. After the ceremony the down home cookin’ reception (catered by The Lady and Sons) and poolside dancing took place at an exquisite beach home on the north end of the island. We still wanted to get some romantic beach shots and some of the family pictures, so right at sunset we took the whole party to the beach. Sometimes I have to pinch myself to make sure I am not just dreaming this stuff. What a pleasure it is to work with beautiful happy people that love each other!
